PGA On Steroids

It was just one of those things. We'd been trying, unsucessfully, for a long time to get together: Cary, Ted and I...trying, but it just wasn't happening. Then one balmy Christmas eve, Cary came to say, "why not get together and include the women?" Faster than you could say "matzah ball" the date was set - January 16th and Matthew followed up with an email to Joan. Well he had the wrong email address and it bounced. And Cary and Joan had migrated to Florida for a week or so. And Ted and Linda ... oh well you know.

But Matthew was persistent. He got the proper email; he called Ted; he called Cary and finally, finally, we met for dinner at Le Zie, a lovely Italian ristorante in Chelsea.

I parked on West 20th and worried that overnight parking regulations would necessitate leaving by 10. It was 8 when we arrived and Stacey said we'd never be out by 10. I begged to differ, thinking that we'd chat, eat and leave. It turned out to be a much longer affair. When we left it was 11! It also turned out to be an affair to remember; an evening filled with good drink, good food, old wives' tails, er, tales, politics, idle banter, chit-chat, gossip and folderol. Cary led the way on the latter.

Truth be told it was an exceptional evening as these photos will attest.

With a haughty tilt of his head, Cary calls the meeting to order.

Yes, this is a new-fangled gadget I just purchased. They're calling it a cellular phone. Or something like that I think.

Ted has a private moment...however, he wouldn't tell anyone what he was laughing about.

At about a quarter to eleven, Cary fell asleep at the table! Oh, how funny was that? We all took turns posing with him sleeping. And he never knew anything about it!

Cary awakes and wants to know why Stacey has her arms around him. Stacey pretended to be sleeping and having a dream that she was with her darling Matthew.

And yes, if you must know, the beautiful people were in attendance.

Ted. And Ted's shadow.

And....by the way. Cary had the salmon. People wanted to know.
